Samsung has announced that it is adding another model to its Galaxy line-up of Android devices. The Galaxy S (GT-I9000) is a monster phone, weighing in with a massive 4-inch Super AMOLED display and an 800 x 480 resolution.
It will come with the latest Android 2.1, running on a 1GHz processor, which seems to be the rage these days.
It offers all the connectivity you could wish for from HSDPA through to Wi-Fi b/g/n via Bluetooth 3, and is maxed out with sensors, so it knows which way it's going, which way you're going, where your face is and how bright it is.
It measures a hefty 64.2 x 122.4 x 9.9mm and weighs in at 118g, with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, offering 720p/30fps video capture.
The battery is rated at 1500mAh and on a device this size, we're wondering just how long that will last. Samsung has also adapted the interface, so the first thing we'll be looking at is how that enhances or downgrades the experience...
With access to all the Android goodness, the Galaxy S looks to be a powerful media platform in your pocket and if the Super AMOLED screen is anything like that on the Samsung Wave, then we're in for a treat.
